Estonian enterprises participate in the timber trade show in France

30.05.2018 - 01.06.2018

Enterprise Estonia (EAS) organises a joint stand of Estonian enterprises at the timber trade show titled “Carrefour International du Bois”, which is held in France. The trade show takes place from 30 May to 1 June, and Estonia is represented by five enterprises on a joint stand: Vara Saeveski, Timbeter, Vindor, Nordtreat, and Teamwood.

Director of Trade Development Agency of Enterprise Estonia Tanel Rebane says that it is the largest trade show targeted at the timber industry in France and, in terms of its concept, the trade show is unique throughout Europe. “The trade show focuses entirely on timber. For our companies, it is a wonderful opportunity to meet with potential partners, customers, and competitors over the three days,” Rebane says.

Enterprises representing Estonia:

Timbeter is a digital timber measurement solution that uses machine-learning technology and artificial intelligence for accurate log detection.

Nordtreat is a Scandinavian cleantech company specialising in the manufacturing of environmentally friendly fire retardants.

Teamwood offers high-quality Nordic softwood planed products – decking, panelling, carcassing, mouldings, etc.

Vara Saeveski is one of the most modern sawmills in southeast Estonia. Their main activity is producing sawn timber from Nordic softwood logs, which is used in construction, furniture production, the packaging industry, and timber manufacturing.

Vindor is an ideal partner for companies looking for flexibility and a highly skilled and developed partner in the field of wood processing and finishing.

Estonia is one of the most forest-rich countries in the world – over half of the land is covered with forests. Today, forestry and wood processing are two of the most important industries in Estonia, providing jobs for over 36,000 people. Estonia is number one exporter of prefabricated timber buildings in Europe, and our companies are involved in building the tallest and most complex wooden houses in the region.

Enterprise Estonia (EAS) is the largest public entrepreneurship-supporting organisation in Estonia. To encourage exports, we help Estonian enterprises in their search for business partners and new sales opportunities. In addition to helping Estonian enterprises, we also help foreign enterprises free of charge in finding potential sourcing partners from Estonia via targeted search.
